Our first mission seminar for the Dec trip started on 11 August, with our beloved Pastor speaking to us about the need for missionaries. The focus passage was Romans 10: 12-21 with key verses being verses 13-15a:
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?
15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent?
Truly the need is great, because the world is lost and needs the gospel. The gospel needs to go out to all the world, just as Acts 1:8 says:
8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Some might argue that this verse only applies to the disciples then, but I think not. It applies to all disciples of Christ, then and now, which includes you and me as believers and ‘Christ’s modern day disciples’. It is our responsibility to tell and we have to do so now, wherever we are.
After Pastor spoke, we had a short time of planning for the trip as Dn Kok Wah shared the vision and mission theme for the trip. We assigned roles for those present.
