Mission seminar #2 – The missionary call

September 8th, 2007

No one else could have told this better than Rev Ken. He is a missionary with New Tribe Missions (NTM) for almost 20 years in the tribal population of Papua New Guinea. Having committed their lives to God, God called Rev Ken and his wife to missionary work when he was 27. Since then, he never looked back. Constantly awed by God’s power, he gave us insight into the life of a missionary. Having met many tribal groups, most heartwarming response was their eagerness to learn about God. More amazing was that when a tribal group is converted, other groups will voice their desire to know this same God. A constant plea was for more missionaries to be there to live among them, learn their language and tell them about this wonderful Salvation plan that God has for mankind. That’s the call that any Christian will ever need! What else are you waiting for, my dearest brothers and sisters-in-Christ?

John 4: 35b – “…behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.”

Matt 9: 37-38 – “Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; 38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.”

The Christian life is a life of obedience. Will you and I be the ones that will say to the Lord like Isaiah : “Here I am, send me”?
